“To teach meditation is to hand someone the key to their own inner sanctuary—something few people know they already possess. We’re not teaching people to transcend life—we’re teaching them to meet it with clarity, compassion, and courage.”

Awareness Insight Meditation Teacher Training (1:1 Mentorship Program)

SOMM 800 HR Registered Meditation Teacher L2

Learn to teach meditation through a deeply personalised, mentor-guided journey.

Traditionally, meditation was passed down in a mentor–mentee style—through direct transmission, individual guidance, and lived experience. Our Awareness Insight Meditation Teacher Training honours this lineage with a modern approach, offering a 1:1 mentorship model led by SOMM Founder and Program Director, Claire Robbie.

This training is designed for those who have had a consistent meditation practice for several years and now feel called to go deeper—into both their own inner work and the art of effectively sharing this powerful practice with others.

The course includes eight comprehensive modules blending theory, personal practice, and hands-on teaching guidance. You'll be supported throughout by Claire and other certified and experienced SOMM Teachers, allowing for a rich and nuanced learning experience.

The curriculum is a combination of philosophy, ancient knowledge and science combined with the practicalities of being a teacher in this modern world. During the program students will have many real opportunities to lead groups, guide meditations, create workshops and learn how to support fellow meditators and those new to meditation. By the end of the program AIM teacher trainees will be able to facilitate the 3-part AIM Foundational Course as well as create workshops and classes authentic to their own style/influences relating to the meditative process.

This mentorship-based format allows you to move at your own pace, with space for integration, reflection, and refinement—making it a truly bespoke training pathway.

If you're curious to explore whether this program is right for you, I’d love to hear from you.

  • The Awareness Insight Meditation (AIM) teacher training supports and develops meditators who have the desire to deepen their own practice, but also may wish to one day be effective teachers of meditation, and/or integrate meditation into an existing therapeutic modality.

In this mentor-style program Claire works individually with teacher trainees to become more confident communicators, and encourage the skills to draw from their own mediation experience to be an effective teacher.

This training also includes a mentor program with other AIM teachers.

Whether or not you wish to become a meditation teacher, the course will amplify and deepen your own meditative practices, knowledge and evolution.

  • Awareness Insight Meditation (AIM) is a self-sufficient, eyes-closed, seated daily meditation practice. AIM is an open-monitoring style of meditation in a similar vein to Vipassana and Insight Meditation. It is a “style” of meditation that has been shown to enhance interoception, emotional awareness, and focus, as well as supporting us as we move through the ebbs and flows of life.

The 3-part AIM Foundational Course is a comprehensive meditation course that instructs students not just on technique or ‘how-to’ meditate but covers the psychology, biology and neuroscience of meditation. It has been influenced by Buddhist, Vedic and Yogic traditions. The course is an explanation of human nature and also as to why creating and sustaining new habits can be a challenge for us humans.

Above all, AIM is taught as a commitment and a process rather than a “technique.”
